Schedule of 2012 May Day Events in and Around Oakland

Below is a partial list of May Day actions in and around Oakland.  For more info, see this Indybay post.

4:30am Marin IBU pickets Larkspur and Sausalito ferries

BUS SCHEDULE:

6am Oakland 19th and Telegraph in Oakland
6am San Francisco City Hall

Buses will depart from 19th and Telegraph in Oakland and San Francisco City Hall at 6am on May Day to deliver supporters to strike picket locations. Picket line locations will be publicized at 10pm on Monday, April 30. There will still be a 7am labor rally at the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza (but no shut down of the bridge, by request of the unions).

One bus (50people) will return by 10am to S.F. for the Mayday March at 24th and Mission

Buses will return at Noon to Oakland and S.F. to the Occupy Oakland Mass Rally
at 14th & Broadway and the downtown SF Mayday convergence at Montgomery & Market.

6:30am IBU picket of S. F. ferry terminal (behind the Ferry Building & Harry
Bridges Plaza

7am-10am S.F. Golden Gate workers rally at Golden Gate toll plaza

7am Oakland/Berkeley California Nurses Association pickets at Alta Bates
Hospital 2450 Ashby Ave. in Berkeley and Summit Medical Center, 350 Hawthorne Ave. in Oakland

8am-Noon; 1-2pm Oakland May Day Speak Out/Art In/Peace Gathering at the Oakland Federal Building, 1301 Clay Street, Oakland

8:30am-Noon Oakland STRIKE STATIONS:
Station 1 anti-capitalist: Snow Park – flying pickets to shut down banks and
the Chamber of Commerce

Station 2 anti-patriarchy: 1st & Broadway – occupy Child Protective Services,
called for by OOP

Station 3 anti-gentrification: 22nd & Telegraph – flying pickets to shut down
Uptown & Downtown Business Associations

8:30am Oakland Occupy Patriarchy shuts down Child Protective Services at 401 Broadway

10am S.F. Immigrant Community Rally and March to 16th Street BART @24th and Mission Streets, San Francisco

11am S.F. SEUI 87 janitorial workers, Westfield Mall, 5th and Market streets at
Powell BART in San Francisco

11am-2pm Berkeley People’s Park gathering hosted by the Suitcase clinic

11:30am-1pm Hayward Rally against cuts to paratransit called for by ATU 192 Officers and E-Board at A-Para Transit Corp. 22990 Clawiter Rd, Haywrd 94545

Noon-1pm Oakland Rally at Oscar Grant Plaza at 14th & Broadway, including speakers, food, music activities, etc.

Noon S.F. Gathering at Montgomery & Market – The People’s Street Festival
celebrating International Workers Day and the 99%, reclaiming the financial
district for the 99%! Street Theater — Participatory Flashmob Dance — Peoples’
Assembly — Silk Screens — Teach-ins — And more! Bring your own Activities
that will Strengthen our Struggle! We want everyone to participate and encourage creativity! Sponsored by: Occupy Solidarity Network, Jobs with Justice, Progressive Workers Alliance, OccupySF Action Council, Occupy Education NorCal and SF Labor Council.

1pm S.F. Bus tour of San Francisco’s 1% leaves from festival at Montgomery and Market!

1-3pm Oakland Various autonomous actions after rally at OGP

4:30pm S.F. SEIU 1021 non-profit workers, librarians, nurses, social workers,
and janitors rally at City Hall, San Francisco
