Seeking a Host for a State Party Meeting
January 10, 2009
Dear Counties/Regions:
The GPCA is required to hold a state meeting by April each year to
approve the annual budget and to elect its officers. To date, no
Local has volunteered to host a meeting in April.
We are once again appealing to the active counties that comprise the
GPCA to support the party by discussing your ability to host this
meeting. The planning horizon begins now, so this is becoming an
urgent issue.
The basic requirements of putting together a state meeting are:
1. Venue – A large meeting room and 3 – 4 smaller breakout rooms are needed.
2. Food – A light breakfast and a full lunch for both days.
3. Housing – Homestay hosts and a list of affordable motels.
The state party can loan up to $1500 to the host committee for
advance costs. The Plenary Planning Committee can offer advice and
answer questions. There is a “Plenary Cookbook”
(http://cagreens.org/plenary/) to aid in the planning process.
Please consider this request and contact the Coordinating Committee
(gpca-cc@cagreens.org) if you can host this meeting.
